Commercialization Accelerator

About: MassVentures’ Commercialization Accelerator is the academy for tech entrepreneurs in Massachusetts. Our series of brief, no-cost courses share expert know-how in spinouts, IP, fundraising, culture, business model, go-to-market strategy, marketing, sales, and operations. Organized into 7 learning pathways, the Accelerator is free with registration.

Who's Eligible: Anyone interested in learning the skills needed to succeed as an entrepreneur.

Timing: The Accelerator is available on an ongoing basis.

 
 

MassVX

About: MassVX curates talent matches between academic innovators and business development experts to expedite the translation of research to the market. We draw from our network of vetted entrepreneurial champions including CEOs, chairpersons, venture capital advisory board members and other professionals to find the best match for each founder’s unique needs and challenges.

Who's Eligible: Academic founders who have secured or applied for a patent, have secured proof-of-concept funding, and are ready to expedite their spinout with a MassVX Entrepreneurial Champion.

Timing: Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.

 
 

SBIR Support

About: MV Accelerate coaches nascent ventures that are submitting SBIR and STTR (Small Business Technology Transfer) proposals so that they learn the best practices of proposal writing and execution. We offer strategy and alignment sessions, work plan and commercialization plan feedback/analysis, budget compliance analysis, and final review through one-on-one meetings.

Who's Eligible: Founders based in Massachusetts applying for grants with agencies including DOE, DOD, NSF, NIH, NASA, EPA and NIST. 

Timing: Requests for support are reviewed on an ongoing basis.

 
 

Founders School

About: Founders School is a pre-accelerator program for underrepresented deep tech founders. Throughout the three-month core curriculum, founders will learn more about “Why Massachusetts”, and why now is the optimal time to build a high-growth potential business in the Commonwealth. Special emphasis will be placed on guiding founders that are often overlooked by traditional funding sources with specific strategies to overcome commonly faced hurdles.

Who's Eligible: Underrepresented deep tech founders in Massachusetts, as well as founders curious about moving and building their business in the Commonwealth. 

Timing: Initial cohort launches October 2024.

 
 

The Fundable Founder Podcast

About: The Fundable Founder was created to help first time tech entrepreneurs quickly find and fill the gaps in their know-how. It covers key topics from IP strategy to fundraising to sales & product management to executive leadership.
